Academic Policies

To ensure consistent, high-quality music education, we kindly ask all students and parents to review and follow the policies below.

1. Tuition & Membership

  • A non-refundable registration fee of Rs 4,000 is required at initial sign-up (waived for siblings and full-time church workers).
  • Tuition is a flat monthly fee (4 lessons per month).
  • Monthly fees:
    • Rs 2,000 (Beginner – up to Grade 2)
    • Rs 2,500 (Grade 3 – Grade 5)
    • Rs 3,000 (Grade 6 – Grade 8)
  • Educational materials, books, and instrument rental (if applicable) are charged separately.
  • Tuition must be paid at the beginning of each month.
  • A Rs 100 late fee applies after the 10th of each month.

2. Attendance Policy

  • Students are expected to be punctual for all lessons.
  • Late arrival may result in shortened lesson time, depending on the schedule.
  • Teachers reserve dedicated time slots; consistent attendance ensures progress.

3. Missed Lessons & Make-Up Policy

  • No refunds or credits are provided for missed lessons.
  • A make-up lesson is allowed only if cancellation is made at least 24 hours in advance.
  • Cancellations made within 24 hours are not eligible for make-up lessons.
  • Make-up lessons are scheduled by the academy and cannot be rescheduled further.

4. Trial Lessons

We offer trial lessons for new students to experience our teaching approach.

  • Rs 250 – 20-minute trial (for children under 8 years)
  • Rs 400 – 30-minute trial

Please note:

  • Trial lessons are available for new students or existing students exploring another instrument.
  • Only one trial lesson per teacher is allowed.
  • Trial lessons must be booked within two weeks in advance.

5. Teacher & Schedule Policies

  • Students may request to change instruments with at least 14 days’ notice before the next month.
  • If a teacher is unavailable, a substitute teacher will be arranged.
  • If a long-term change is required, the academy will provide a replacement teacher with a similar teaching approach.

6. Photo & Video Policy

Unless otherwise requested in writing, Shofar Music Academy may:

  • Take photos or videos of students during lessons, recitals, or events
  • Use them for website, promotional materials, and academy media

All content remains the property of Shofar Music Academy.

7. Safety & Liability

Participation in music lessons and activities involves general risks.

By enrolling, students/parents agree that:

  • Shofar Music Academy is not liable for injuries or accidents during lessons or related activities
  • All participation is at the student’s own responsibility
